Who's Gisela Alcalá

I am a Mexican woman, enjoying my 30s in Spain, following my love for service, as I always have—or at least, for as long as I can remember.

Since I was a child, I have always known that connecting with people is what fuels my passion for life. From a very young age, my dream was to move to Europe and work as a waitress, and well, years later, here I am in Europe—though in a very different way than I had imagined.

This desire to serve has evolved over the years. I began by studying a degree in Tourism Management, and since then, I have dedicated myself to the hospitality industry from different angles, always striving to create unforgettable experiences in people's lives.

I can say that learning is one of the strongest pillars of my life. I have explored different passions and facets, ranging from crafts like ceramics, weaving, and embroidery to the arts, including Hawaiian, Arabic, jazz, hip-hop, Mexican folk dance, aerial dance, salsa, and Zumba. I have also immersed myself in music, playing piano, guitar, percussion, and singing. After completing a couple of diploma courses, I decided to continue studying French and English, and later, I ventured into sales.

That was when my life took an unexpected turn: one of the most important people in my life, my mother, passed away just months after being diagnosed with one of the most aggressive types of cancer. In my search for possible solutions, I came across the world of metaphysics, ancestral medicines, and spirituality. Without giving too much importance to what I had discovered, I became an expert in hiding my emotions, in having fun and enjoying life with as little awareness as possible on the beautiful beaches of Cancún. And I did it so well that I managed to hide my emotions even from myself.

Then, life gave me the opportunity to grow professionally and move to another city, where I could no longer run from myself. It was there that I met the spiritual teachers who have guided and accompanied me on this path of self-discovery. Through tools such as the study of the Enneagram, the subconscious, emotional responses, trauma healing, childhood wounds, astrology, cartomancy, palmistry, Kabbalah, and A Course in Miracles, I began expanding my consciousness. I also explored different energy healing techniques, including ThetaHealing and Pranic Healing. This journey led me to the world of meditation, and after my first 10-day silent retreat, I discovered that Vipassana meditation was meant for me. Since then, I have been committed to cultivating presence in every moment.

When I felt it was time to explore new paths, I walked the Camino de Santiago and took a sabbatical from the corporate world to continue studying. This time, I delved into the study of sound and vibration and fell in love with this noble therapy, which works without words or effort—only through the openness to receive. I became certified as a Himalayan singing bowl sound therapist at The Elephant Bowl school, under the guidance of Geoffrey Torkington, and as a Hatha and Ashtanga yoga teacher at Kavaalya, a school that views yoga as a deeply spiritual practice rather than a fitness discipline.

And I continue studying. Currently, I am deepening my understanding of the art of learning to receive while also pursuing a postgraduate degree in Holistic Psychology and Coaching.

I am a lifelong student. I love experimenting on myself with different ways to achieve physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being, using the tools I have learned over the years and those I continue to discover every day. My sensitivity to subtle realms has also developed over time, playing a key role in my journey.

But knowledge is of little use if we do not share it with others. That is why I find great joy in giving back what I have learned to my close circle of friends, and it would also be an honor to accompany you on your journey—if you choose to embark on it.

Sound connects us back to ourselves and what we feel. What we see outside is only the reflection of what is inside us and, the cleaner and more balanced our interior is, the outside will have no choice but to shine.
